Melissa Reese

MA, LPC/A, NCC

Melissa believes that everyone is worthy of compassionate care and a life that draws from a deep well of peace, hope and joy. Melissa seeks to partner with each client in a way that honors their journey and promotes holistic well-being.

Across a lifetime, one may experience events and symptoms which leave them feeling worn down. This struggle can come in the form of depression, anxiety, history of trauma, significant life changes, grief or any variety of stressor.

Melissa works with each client to identify strategies to encourage them along the way. She works with clients from a person-centered approach, drawing on principals found in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, cognitive-behavioral theory, attachment theory, and solution focused therapy.

Melissa received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of the Cumberlands in 2023. She has experience in various forms of Christian ministry including years spent as a church planter in Spain and providing ministry and life coaching for other ministry leaders across Europe.

Melissa, her husband, and their four children (two biological and two adopted through foster care) have lived in the Columbia, SC area since June 2021. They are active in their local church and as a family they are passionate about living in community and developing meaningful relationships.
