Where is Your Hope?

Hope is what gets you up in the morning. Hope is what helps us endure hardship. Without hope, we may be tempted to give up trying. Many, however, hope for change beyond their control. Some hope in the government, another election, or in someone else finally making a change that will make their life better! These are understandable desires, and we all want things to get better. Hope that isn’t met, however, can lead to disillusionment and despair.

A better object of hope is in the One who formed us and can change us. Interestingly, God doesn’t force others to change, and neither can you! Watch out for wasted energy focused on someone else changing. Place your hope in the God who came to change you and to bring purpose and meaning to your life! Often, as you change and become free of misplaced goals and expectations, you will see change happen to someone else around you. Your life can't help but send a message of hope to others. Your silent change often speaks more than a loud sermon ever could.
